Psychic Readings from The
Psychic Internet often feature images drawn from the
I Ching Oracle. To offer supplementary
information about these images for our clients,
and for the public, we have provided this archive
of brief articles.

The
abstract images of the I Ching Oracle (usually
called "hexagrams") symbolize all of
the related and interacting aspects of reality.
In the following excerpts from actual Psychic Readings, the images of the I Ching
are discussed.

Work On What Has Been
Spoiled
I should
say at this point that we sense in you a
personality and character of pronounced strength,
independence, and intelligence. Still, the
sacrifices you have made result from not sharing
equally with your husband in major decisions. The
I Ching Oracle advises you in this regard through
the two verses that have been highlighted
specifically by todays Readingfrom the
image of Work on What Has Been Spoiled.
In the
first of these verses, the oracle says,
Setting right what has been spoiled by the
father. There will be a little remorse. No great
blame. These words speak so directly to the
specific situation in which you find yourself.
The oracle is NOT describing a situation that is
grossly wrong and inappropriate. On the contrary,
there should be only a little remorse
about the way in which things have developed. And
it would certainly be a great pity if the
negative aspects of your situation were to be
approached with a mind to guilt and blame. While
there may be some important ways in which your
husband could be less forceful and more
understanding of your own individual needs, this
should in this instance be viewed in terms of
no great blame. Note the words,
in this instance. This is not to lay
down a culturally prejudiced rule of conjugal
propriety for every case, but a reference to what
would be most helpful in your particular
situation. But the essential point is simply to
correct what is wrong, without belaboring issues
of who is responsible for it.
Something
should be said at this point about your comment,
I feel constricted in mobility and
time. There is a danger in this condition
that definitely needs correction. You may be
interested to know that the Chinese calligraphic
character that expresses the name for the image
of Work on What Has Been Spoiled is
ku, which actually describes a bowl
in whose stagnant contents worms are breeding.
This is a product of indifference on the one
hand, and excessive force on the other. Your
husbands practical, traditional, and
conservative nature may manifest itself too
forcefully in your situation, while your own
response may reflect some complacent indifference
to the needs that I spoke of in the above.
