Standstill
This is
expressed so well in the second of the two verses
that is highlighted specifically for you by
today’s Reading from the image of
Standstill. Here, the oracle says,
“Standstill is giving way. Good fortune for
the great person. ‘What if it should fail,
what if it should fail?’ In this way she
ties it to a cluster of mulberry shoots.”
In other
words, you are on the verge of making the
connection between male and female that you are
meant to experience in your life. That connection
is full of immense potential, and just because of
this, it must be handled with the utmost care.
Even connecting the poles of the battery in your
automobile is something that you should do with
care, or you are liable to have an accident, and
a very serious one. The mulberry shoots up from
very deep roots. This means that you have to base
your judgment on the deepest level of awareness
within you. Inside you, there is a REAL living
and breathing, thinking and feeling, organism.
This isn’t you as “Linda, the person
you might describe in words. The word
“person” comes from the Greek
“persona.” This was the mask worn in
the theatre, which as you know was a vast affair
under the open skies. Quite apart from the
magnificent acoustical achievements of their
amphitheaters, they also developed a
megaphone-type apparatus. It was inserted in the
place of the mouth in theatrical masks worn by
the actors, which were themselves larger than
life because of the vast size of the performing
space. Thus the mask came to be known as the
thing through which (“per”) was
projected the voice (“sona”). What we
call a person in other words is just an elaborate
mask. A real “person” is a genuine
fake.
But YOU
are a REALITY with a DESTINY. You have NEEDS in
order to fulfill your destiny. Connecting the
poles of male and female is one of those needs,
but there are others associated with it. Get down
to the basic level of REALITY and let yourself
respond naturally and spontaneously to its
guidance. If you are cautious and heed your sense
of the presence of danger, you can make NO
mistakes. Standstill is giving way in your life
to a new condition that will surprise you for its
creative power to make your dreams come true.
