Possession in Great Measure
In any
case, this aspect of the image shows great good
fortune coming from the silver lining
of those things that have caught you up short in
life such as the outcome of your marriage,
and the negative reflection that you see of
yourself in your relationship with K. In the
central verse associated with the image of
Possession in Great Measure, the oracle says,
Thus the superior person curbs evil and
furthers good, and thereby obeys the benevolent
will of heaven. It is so simple really. We
are presented with life, just as it is, which is
the most beautiful thing imaginable. But you must
think of it as a flower, which naturally also
manure at the root. And this is why we are
designed with a conscience. We must be wise
little gardeners, pruning and weeding what grows
inside of us, just as we take care of the flower
gardens outside of us. In the Chinese view, our
life is given by Earth [Nature], and our will is
directed by Heaven. Earth has equipped you with
every potential for good and bad, and places you
in the arena where these potentials are realized.
At the same time, your good judgment and
conscience is your own best guide to the will of
Heaven. This, in fact, is your Possession in
Great Measure. The will of Heaven expresses
itself through YOUR life. This is your Possession
in Great Measure.
