Psychic Readings from The
Psychic Internet often feature images drawn from the
I Ching Oracle. To offer supplementary
information about these images for our clients,
and for the public, we have provided this archive
of brief articles.

The
abstract images of the I Ching Oracle (usually
called "hexagrams") symbolize all of
the related and interacting aspects of reality.
In the following excerpts from actual Psychic Readings, the images of the I Ching
are discussed.

Increase
I want to
begin this Reading by focusing on the image of
Increase, because it grounds this entire Reading
in the very positive message that it has to
convey to you. This message assures you of
excellent success and progress, now, and for the
future. The image of Increase describes what I
like to call The Support of Nature,
which is that mysterious and ineffable thing that
makes everything we do a blessing. Thus, in the
so-called Judgment verse that has been associated
with the image of Increase, the oracle says,
Increase. It furthers one to undertake
something. It furthers one to cross the great
water.
Normally,
by the way, two images emerge from the I Ching in
a consultation, The occasional appearance of just
one image from the I Ching is not a function of
our own choice. The I Ching Oracle is consulted
by means of a meditative practice in which a
series of six numbers is divined. These six
numbers ordinarily result in the drawing of two
images, but not always. When just one image
appears, the message tends to be emphasized to
some degree, or it describes a situation that
should be considered temporarily outside the
bounds of the river of change. Change is not
eliminated from the process, only suspended to a
degree until the task is accomplished. The
appearance of just one image is an indication
that one is solidly in the midst of a specific
and particular phase or task in life. Or, as in
this Reading, it characterizes the whole course
of lifes development in a very specific and
concrete manner. For this image to be Increase in
your case is to be very fortunate indeed. It
means that you can expect your life to follow a
path of consistent progress.
Well,
that is to say, you can expect this IF you always
act in good faith. What does this mean,
good faith? The I Ching Oracle
defines it in the central verse associated with
the image of Increase. In this verse, the oracle
says, Wind and thunder: the image of
Increase. Thus the superior person: if she sees
good, she imitates it; if she has faults, she
rids herself of them.
Thus, the
Judgment is qualified and your own role in the
manifestation of your own success is very clearly
emphasized. Act now in good faith, and your
success, your increase, is
guaranteed. Acting in good faith means being
committed to your own truth, or to put it another
way, to act in good conscience. In the art of
life, the emphasis is only being sincere, being
REAL. Otherwise, one lives an imitation of life,
and never quite gets it right.
And the
keyword is act. It shouldnt be
lost on you that the Judgment verse for the image
of Increase tells you to undertaking
something. You see a major task ahead of
you. It separates you from the future that you
want to enjoy. Cross over it, just as Caesar
crossed the river, Rubicon. He saw the path to
his glory and he took it. Cross the great
water, or, in other words, DO what you have
as yet only contemplated.
