Like the "flaming sword which turned every way," this image marks a boundary and an obstacle. In readings, it can reflect the psychological force of denial and defensiveness. It can signal the presence of a stalemate in one's affairs, an impasse that may or may not be overcome. Or, it can convey a sense of warning, indicating that for one's own good, a prospective course of action should be foreclosed. In a Reading for one of our clients, the reversal of the image of Two Swords indicated a very favorable turn of events. Having just completed a seemingly successful interview for a new job that very much excited his long-frustrated desire for change, he was unsure if he should let himself get too carried away with hope. The reversal of Two Swords told us not only that good news was soon to be forthcoming with regard to his interview, but that a new period of progress was in store for our client. Indeed, he got the job, and several promotions on short order soon afterwards. |
