The Empress

The images of The Empress and The Emperor are among the most beautiful in the collection of the Tarot Oracle. That said, however, it is sometimes even more pleasing to see the appearance of The Empress than that of her somewhat more severe consort. She represents the feminine side of power and mastery, which often conveys a more gentle sense of forbearance and mercy. The Empress also signifies fertility and motherhood, and her influence nurtures the body and soul. She expresses a tender caring, and provides an abundance of all that is good in life. She represents health and harmony in all things.

In one Reading, an author of children's books asked about a serious case of writer's block that she was experiencing. Several of the images that we drew from our Tarot Oracle during our meditation for her described a condition of overwork, and also nervous excitement with regard to other issues. But in seeing the image of The Empress at the center of all of these other images, we knew that we could reassure her about the return of her facility with the written word. The abundant blessings granted by The Empress pass through and on from their recipient to grace the lives of multitudes of others. Our client's talent was in no danger of drying up so long as her heart was warm with love for children, and her spirit faithful to their need for nurture.
