Psychic Readings from The
Psychic Internet often feature images drawn from the
I Ching Oracle. To offer supplementary
information about these images for our clients,
and for the public, we have provided this archive
of brief articles.

the I Ching Oracle, click here.
The
abstract images of the I Ching Oracle (usually
called "hexagrams") symbolize all of
the related and interacting aspects of reality.
In the following excerpts from actual Psychic Readings, the images of the I Ching
are discussed.

The Well
There is
a very telling confirmation of this negative
judgment in the response that we have had from
our I Ching Oracle. In this response, one of the
verses from the image of The Well has been
highlighted specifically for you. In this verse,
the oracle says, One does not drink from
the mud of the well. No animals come to an old
well. And Confucius said of this verse,
One does not drink from the mud of the well
because it is too far down.
The image
of The Well brings to mind water, and especially
subterranean water, and these from a symbolic
perspective are often associated with the
subconscious and its emotions. And of course the
heart and blood also carry these associations.
For the most part, the image of The Well is
characterized by very positive ideas having to do
with nourishment and the provision of well being.
However, in the verse that has been highlighted
specifically by todays Reading from the
image of The Well, we see the negative potential
of an old and abandoned well that has nothing
remaining of its former utility, but instead is
mired in the muck of a polluting quagmire.
It is, I
suppose, a favorite aspect of alternative
medicine to delve into the psychological and
emotional elements that influence and contribute
to the development of an illness. Generally
speaking, I am inclined to favor this approach
for there is no doubt that no sharp distinctions
can be drawn between the mind and the body. Nor
do I think that the mind is contained only in the
brain to the exclusion, that is, of the
heart, for example. But, this consideration is
merely the product of my rational thought
processes based on what Ive learned in
books or through experience. A psychic Reading
obviously draws on other human faculties. And it
is my duty to convey to you our psychic insights
and not personal opinions about this or that. Any
expressions of personal thoughts and opinions in
our Readings are meant only to help convey the
meaning of the images that we draw, and the
psychic insights that come to us in one way or
another. Therefore, in this instance, while I
might otherwise have a predilection to favor the
kind of approach you have been taking to your
illness, it is necessary to convey this psychic
message about its harmful influence on your
healing process. After all, the holistic ideas of
alternative medicine, and Dr. Y.s approach
to your illness in particular, are manifestations
of theory. I always remember Goethes great
maxim, Theory is gray, but life is
evergreen. And I remember Hegels
great notion to the effect that the truth is
always concrete. Today, our oracles have
expressed an idea in concrete terms, and if this
idea seems to contradict the abstractions of
theory, there it is nonetheless.
In short,
it may be wise for you to consider this message
without preconceived prejudice of any kind,
simply mulling it over for some time and then
letting your own intuition tell you one way or
another how to evaluate it. The message is very
clear. It tells you to forgo for now dwelling and
delving into the depths of emotional and
psychological wounds from the past. Even if it is
true that these wounds are related in some way to
your current ill health, it does not necessarily
follow that it is good to deal with them as you
have been. In stirring up these issues you may
actually be exacerbating your condition.
