The Wanderer
The I
Ching Oracle echoes this last judgment through
the image of The Wanderer. You have already
departed out of the fixed domain and limits of
your marriage. In this respect, you are like a
wanderer, traveling from one life situation into
another. The position of the wanderer is not an
easy one. It requires the utmost caution and
circumspection in your interactions with other
people. While your heart is uncommitted to a
beloved partner, you will wander through a
variety of different relationships, or situations
in which you will have the opportunity for new
relationships. It will be easy to fall into
intimacy with someone that you find yourself
attracted to, hoping in this way that you will at
last have found the end of your path of
wandering. But, how sad it will be if you have
actually found only one more unsuitable place for
yourself! Thus, the I Ching Oracle says in the
verse that has been highlighted specifically by
todays Reading from the image of The
Wanderer, The birds nest burns up.
The wanderer laughs at first, then must needs
lament and weep. Misfortune.
Instead
of taking this path, consider the methodically
rational alternative that is presented in the
image of Pushing Upward. This image promises you
great success through a step-by-step process of
careful progress now that you have stepped out of
the formal constraints of your marriage. In order
to restructure your life, you need to plan and
prepare for the changes that must come. All
distractions, even a distraction such as your
attraction to S., need to be put aside so that
you can think about your present situation and
figure out a way to move forward with your life.
The image of Pushing Upward is the best possible
portent for you future. It describes growth and
development into the full realization of your
immense potential as an individual. Have faith in
yourself, and you cannot fail to achieve the
highest and most precious reward.
