Psychic Readings from The
Psychic Internet often feature images drawn from the
I Ching Oracle. To offer supplementary
information about these images for our clients,
and for the public, we have provided this archive
of brief articles.

The
abstract images of the I Ching Oracle (usually
called "hexagrams") symbolize all of
the related and interacting aspects of reality.
In the following excerpts from actual Psychic
Readings, the image of The Receptive is

The Receptive
A similar
message is conveyed through the two images that
we have drawn for you today from our I Ching
Oracle. Here, the image of The Receptive begins
by describing you in the position of somebody who
receives an offer of one kind or another.
However, the specific tenor of the verses that
have been highlighted specifically by
todays Reading from the image of The
Receptive suggest that you need to exercise high
caution with regard to any such offer.
Thus, in
the first of these verses, the oracle says,
When there is hoarfrost underfoot, solid
ice is not far off. This verse implies that
there will be signs of something not quite right
about the offer that is made to you. It may be
that you will only feel this in an intuitive way.
Think of that slightly chilled breeze that comes
early in autumn, when the overall warmth and
beauty of the day would otherwise make winter
seem like a very distant and improbably prospect.
But it is that slight chill that really tells you
something about what is coming. It has to be
heeded, and one has to begin preparing for the
worst. The element of caution in this verse is
fairly obvious.
In the
second of these verses, the oracle says,
Hidden lines. One is able to remain
persevering. If by chance you are in the service
of a king, seek not works, but bring to
completion. To be in the service of a king,
means here that you are in the process of
achieving long-standing goals in the attainment
of your God-given destiny as a man of the world.
In this respect, you need to be persevering, and
move consistently toward completion without
giving in to the temptation of easy shortcuts
that may seem to present themselves along the
way.
