Obstruction
The
juxtaposition of the images of Obstruction and
Breakthrough are very interesting. Their
respective meanings may be said to reinforce each
other in a unique way. The image of Breakthrough
describes what happens after a long accumulation
of tension. Consider the workings of a water dam.
One can only stop up the flow of a river up to a
certain point. The waters accumulate behind the
dam for quite some time, and the lake becomes
deeper and deeper, the weight of it growing and
growing. Then, all of a sudden, there is a
breakthrough.
In the
image of Obstruction, then, you see how your
energies are accumulated in the face of every
obstacle that is placed in your path. Naturally,
this is a very frustrating experience in many
ways. But, here again, try to see the larger
perspective. The forces that are involved will
ultimately find a way through the obstructions
that hold them back. Then there will be a
glorious and life-giving breakthrough in which
progress will once more be undertaken with even
more power to bring about the realization of your
goals. In fact, in the proper way of viewing your
situation, we believe that you should appreciate
obstacles as the very thing that increases your
power to accomplish what you desire. Isn’t
this what a dam is for? It is a way of harnessing
power. All of the kinetic energy of the water is
at first stopped in its tracks, but this is only
so that it can be developed and put to work in
driving the massive turbines that energize all of
our worldly projects.
Of
course, everything depends on finding the right
moment to open the sluice-gates after an
accumulation of energy. It is very important for
you to understand that the week ahead will NOT be
the time to do this. The image of Obstruction is
premised on the idea of “stopping” in
the face of obstacles. As I noted above, the week
ahead is likely to present you with many
frustrations, especially in your dealings with
certain associates – probably junior
associates, or people who are younger than you in
any case. You may feel as if you’ve
absolutely “had it,” and feel a need to
do something immediately to get yourself away
from these people, and into a completely
different set of circumstances. Do NOT be led
astray by these patterns of thought and feeling.
Now is NOT the time to let your frustrations pull
you apart from these people. Expand your
perspective to see the large picture. Don’t
focus only on what is negative and wrong. There
is a great success and celebration of victory
just over the horizon, still out of sight, but as
certain as anything can be in this changing
world. Have faith in yourself, above all. Your
faith will be proved true, and the reward will be
great and sublime.
