Psychic Readings from The
Psychic Internet often feature images drawn from the
I Ching Oracle. To offer supplementary
information about these images for our clients,
and for the public, we have provided this archive
of brief articles.

the I Ching Oracle, click here.
The
abstract images of the I Ching Oracle (usually
called "hexagrams") symbolize all of
the related and interacting aspects of reality.
In the following excerpts from actual Psychic Readings, the images of the I Ching
are discussed.

Keeping Still
Of
course, in todays Reading, our own
intuition of a lack of prospects for immediate
change in your working life is underlined by the
appearance of only one image from our I Ching
Oracle. And then it is doubly underlined by the
fact that it is the image of Keeping Still that
appears.
It is
important to note that this image is distinct and
separate in meaning from another image called
Standstill, which describes true stagnation and
disharmony. In the image of Keeping Still, there
is present an inner dynamism and an active
element that hearkens back to what I said above
about things that happen invisibly.
It is
interesting to note that the image of Keeping
Still describes quite literally the human
practice of meditation. Thus, to all outward
appearances the body is completely at rest. But
inwardly a great creative force is being
liberated. This, in a nutshell, is the art of
meditation. It is most relevant to your situation
because it describes in perfect simplicity the
WAY for you to properly deal with your situation
in life at this time. I am NOT referring to any
specific religious or spiritual practice, but to
a psychological attitude and quality. In the
central verse that has been associated with this
image from very ancient times, the advice is
short and sweet. Here, the oracle says,
Mountains standing close together: the
image of Keeping Still. Thus the superior person
does not let her thoughts go beyond her
situation.
Even
though I was not referring to meditation, per se,
as a specific practice, this does not rule out
that you may also want to take this time in your
life as an opportunity to practice meditation.
You dont have to worry about doing it the
right way, if indeed you have no
training in it. Find a peaceful and quiet
space/time where/when you can be alone and
undisturbed. Then do what the Zen Masters often
recommend: Just sit. Its no
more complicated than that. But if you do it
regularly for a few minutes every day, you will
be astonished over time how closely you connect
with the faith and confidence that are a constant
and ever-present resource of strength within you.
