Gathering Together
In this
instance, the images of Gathering Together and
Biting Through present a very favorable prospect
for you in the year ahead. It should not be
considered a time for coasting or for resting on
laurels from the past. A very high energy is
conveyed by the progression of these two images.
As you can easily surmise from the names of these
two images, the general idea is that you are now
accumulating the resources that you will need in
the future for the great accomplishments that you
are aiming at. You do not yet have all the
ingredients that you need to realize your goals,
and this year is all about putting them together
in more tangible ways.
Now,
there will be times during the coming year when
confusion and doubt will be very prominent in
your mind. Listen, then, to the first of the
verses that is specifically highlighted for you
in the image of Gathering Together. It says,
“If you are sincere, but not to the end,
there will sometimes be confusion, sometimes
gathering together.” The meaning is very
simple: in order to influence other people to
follow your lead, or to move in the direction
that you want them to go, then your own
unswerving devotion to the goal will be required.
Otherwise, the devotion you arouse in others will
be purely accidental and temporary.
Much the
same idea is expressed by the other verse that is
highlighted specifically for you by this Reading
from Gathering Together. It says, “If in
gathering together one has position, this brings
no blame. If there are some who are not yet
sincerely in the work, sublime and enduring
perseverance is needed. Then remorse
disappears.” Here, you are cast in the light
of a person around whom others can unite,
bringing their own work and energy or resources
to bear. In other words, your goal can be made to
be their goal. You will be put in this enviable
position sometime during the current year. But,
in order to make the gift of that special
position productive of the results you want to
have, you have to show the utmost conviction in
your vision of the future. You have to be able to
express it in such a way as to make it impossible
that others not believe as much as you.
Even so,
you may find that the path is littered with
obstacles, especially in the form of specific
people who oppose your intentions in one way or
another. In such a case, making your needs known
in a perfectly clear and forthright way is the
path to success. Cutting through red tape and
formalities, going right to the source of power,
this is the path to success.
