Psychic Readings from The
Psychic Internet often feature images drawn from the
I Ching Oracle. To offer supplementary
information about these images for our clients,
and for the public, we have provided this archive
of brief articles.

The
abstract images of the I Ching Oracle (usually
called "hexagrams") symbolize all of
the related and interacting aspects of reality.
In the following excerpts from actual Psychic Readings, the images of the I Ching
are discussed.

The Clinging
The image
of The Clinging also conveys important advice to
you. The image of The Clinging is really a
description of fire, and by extension, of light.
This is a time when it is important for you and
your friend to shed the light of objectivity on
your relationship. From a purely psychic point of
view, we can see that the two of you have a great
deal in common, and that your feelings for each
other are very warm and full of caring
friendship. Moreover, you have been able to help
each other and support each other in myriad ways.
But, are these sufficient reasons for marriage?
Are these sufficient reasons to cling to each
other in a permanent and committed relationship?
What about that element of ineffable magic that
two people can feel in a relationship? That
element is usually the glue that keeps people
together in modern marriages. Is that element
present in this relationship? This question must
be approached with absolute objectivity if you
are to avoid mistakes that will compromise the
good fortune of the new cycle of development you
are presently entering into.
The image
of The Clinging is an essay on how things adhere
to each other. Fire clings to the stick that
burns. They are practically speaking one
phenomenon, so intimately related as to be
inseparable. Remove the fire from the stick and
it goes out. Remove the stick from the fire and
it no longer burns. This is the kind of intimacy
that you are looking for, a relationship that
brings out in both parties all the warmth and
light that each bears as mere potential in their
solitary individuality. Your clinging together in
this relationship must be a perpetually self
renewing thing if it is to last through the
permanence of a marriage. Keep this in mind as
you consider your future together. What is good
for now must be good forever. Otherwise, it may
be best to enjoy the present for what it is while
understanding its limitations. We feel sure that
you will make the right decision when the time
comes. In your case, you might reflect on the
great lyric by Cole Porter in his song, Begin the
Beguine: Let the love that was once a fire
remain an ember.
