Psychic Readings from The
Psychic Internet often feature images drawn from the
I Ching Oracle. To offer supplementary
information about these images for our clients,
and for the public, we have provided this archive
of brief articles.

the I Ching Oracle, click here.
The
abstract images of the I Ching Oracle (usually
called "hexagrams") symbolize all of
the related and interacting aspects of reality.
In the following excerpts from actual Psychic Readings, the images of the I Ching
are discussed.

The Arousing
You
probably recall that the last time that the image
of The Arousing [also called Shock] appeared in
one of our weekly Readings about your business
affairs and you may remember also that the
image describes the natural phenomenon of
thunder. It appeared of course for your Reading
of September 8, 2001. However, I hasten to add,
the appearance of this image again in
todays Reading is not intended to frighten
or to alarm you.
Because
of the terrible and sudden nature of the World
Trade Center debacle, one naturally wonders if a
situation described by the oracle as one of Shock
is ordinarily accompanied by such an event. And
as things are in the world, we never know exactly
when and if another shock such as this will
occur. It must be understood first, with respect
to this present appearance of the image of Shock,
that it pertains to the overall situation in
which we find ourselves in the world. Thus, for
example, I can tell you that the crisis between
India and Pakistan is having an influence in
everybodys life than one might NOT suppose
from listening to the mainstream media. In fact,
the reverberations of this shock, which emerges
out of the realization of what it means to have
nuclear weapons proliferating all around the
globe, are having an incalculable effect on the
subconscious mind of every conscious individual.
Most people are not aware of the power of this
silent reverberation, because they
are looking for a very loud bang such
as we heard last September. The world has entered
upon a new era, and I think everybody is
registering the shock of the new.
This is an unprecedented historic moment in a
hundred and one ways.
Obviously,
you are a man of the world. When the world
suffers loss, your own fortunes reflect that loss
in a very concrete way. But you are more than
JUST a man of the world. You have taken a path of
expanding consciousness, and so this makes you a
man of the world who is very different from most
other men of the world.
Now to
say that you are taking a path of expanding
consciousness means that you perceive, and live
according to your sense of something that I may
call Divinely Creative Beneficence. You
understand that there is a beneficent creative
power in the Universe call it God, or
Love, or Tao, or Great Spirit, this last being
the one I prefer because it has been the favorite
expression of the incomparably noble and free
American people who are called the Dakota Sioux.
There are people who have come so close to this
Reality as to make the word faith too
insubstantial to describe their response to it.
It is at
just such times as now that the word
faith seems most inadequate.
Especially to those who have none. This is why
the I Ching Oracle made a distinction between you
and your neighbors. In short, todays
Reading tells you to be in command even when it
seems that fate has preempted you at every turn.
In the words of the Judgment verse that is
associated with the image of The Arousing,
The shock terrifies for a hundred miles,
and he does not let fall the sacrificial spoon
and chalice.
Be the
sword master who parries every thrust, from
whatever direction it comes. He always moves from
a center of absolute calm and implacable
unwavering will. The storm of battle rages around
him, but he acts as if in the eye of a hurricane.
The sun of his inner enlightenment never fades,
and so the worst of the storm never touches him.
This idea
is expressed in the verse that is highlighted
specifically for you by todays Reading from
the image of The Arousing. In it the oracle says,
Shock brings ruin and terrified gazing
around. Going ahead brings misfortune. If it has
not yet touched one's own body but has reached
one's neighbor first, there is no blame.
Ones comrades have something to talk
about.
