Daniel d'Quincy was
born in 1949, in Denver, Colorado. He has a broad
background in writing, music, invention, and metaphysics.
He has devoted himself to music composition since
retiring from performance in 1997.
Composer:
Original musical works performed in concert in
Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas,
Reno and at Lake Tahoe. Scores for film and
dance, including "Ode to Plutonium" for
Soprano with Electronic Accompaniment, with text
by Allen Ginsburg, and "Ringolevio" for
Music Synthesizer. Latest recorded release:
"spiritus" for Orchestra.

One Hand Clapping: The Tao of Music

performance of music from the perspective of
Eastern philosophy and religion.
Los Angeles by Numbers: The Measure of

Musician:
As violinist and violist, Mr. d'Quincy has
performed for the Oakland Symphony, the Las Vegas
String Quartet, and the Tahoe Tallac Chamber
Players. He was Concertmaster of the Reno
Concerto Orchestra, and Conductor/Director of the
Brandeis Contemporary Players.
His own Quincy Violin and Piano Duo has performed
in concert for the Las Vegas Public Library
Artist Series, The University of California in
Los Angeles, and for the Tallac Summer Music
Series at Lake Tahoe. Daniel d'Quincy has
performed with some of the most outstanding
popular artists of our time, including Sammy
Davis, Jr., Tony Bennet, Aretha Franklin, Hal
Holbrook, Lena Horne, Gladys Knight, Nancy
Wilson, and many, many others. ("Quincy is

Teacher: In 1995,
Mr. d'Quincy created a variety of comprehensive
courses in music theory and composition. His
site, The
WholeARTS Online Music Conservatory was the first, and is still the only,
fully interactive music education site on the
Internet.
Inventor: Mr.
d'Quincy is the inventor of the Harmonic Metronome, U.S. Patent #5,515,764. The Harmonic
Metronome incorporates pitch into the normal
functions of the musical metronome. It measures
and plays rhythm AND pitch. Mr. Rosen has also
developed the first objective
measure of proficiency in music performance. This
device is Patent Pending, information upon
request.
Lecturer: Mr.
d'Quincy may be booked for speaking engagements
on a variety of subjects, including music,
history, philosophy, and the I Ching.
